The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Brody School of Medicine is currently seeking a M.D. or Ph.D. who can lead Informatics for the department. The position will be based at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, the 860 bed, primary teaching hospital of the Brody School of Medicine. This position will be for a fixed term or tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in laboratory information system or informatics. Individuals with additional expertise in digital pathology willl also be considered. The candidate will be expected to provide clinical service , as well as in medical student/resident education and clinical research.

The primary responsibility will be as director of informatics. The director will serve as a resource in the department for the laboratory information system and help with the implementation and utilization of all systems. Fellowship or postdoctoral training in clinical informatics and demonstrated research productivity in the field is desirable. The department has a pathology residency and fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology.

The candidate must qualify for a faculty appointment at East Carolina University. Rank and Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience  
M.D. or Ph.D. with demonstrated interest and experience in informatics. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
